Coach Campbell comes to Pope by way of Alabama where Coach Campbell grew up and attended both high school and college. Coach Campbell was a multisport athlete in high school and ultimately pursued a football career at Jacksonville State University. After college, Coach Campbell began his coaching career in Alabama where he spent time as both a high school and travel baseball coach.

Coach Campbell brings a wealth of experience to Pope after spending a decade coaching high school baseball at Oxford High School for one of America’s most decorated coaches, Coach Wes Brooks. While at Oxford, Coach Campbell assumed multiple roles for the program working with a variety of positions including catchers, infielders, outfielders, as well as working with hitters and baserunners. Coach Brooks referred to Coach Campbell as a great baseball man who is extremely reliable and a coach who always knows the right things to say at the right times.

Coach Campbell is also a veteran travel baseball coach having spent multiple summers coaching in the 6-4-3 baseball organization in Marietta Georgia and Top Gun Baseball organization in Alabama. Coach Danny Pralgo of 6-4-3 baseball noted that Coach Campbell is a reliable coach who not only possess baseball knowledge but is a master at developing meaningful relationships with players and is an effective mentor to high school student athletes.

Coach Campbell is a familiar face at Jeff Rowland field as his son, Dawson Campbell, was a 4 year varsity player for Pope and 2022 state champion and 6A state player of the year!

Coach Campbell resides in Marietta Georgia with wife Bethany and 4 children, Kade, Dawson, Josie, and Tye.
