In Walk-off, Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds Loses To River Ridge

It came down to the last play, but Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds was on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to River Ridge on Saturday.  River Ridge was down 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Lipcsey doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds opened up scoring in the first inning, when Hudson DeLine grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, River Ridge tied things up at two when Hollier doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Corya went four innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out three

Ben Hill led Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds with two hits in four at bats.  Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds didn't commit a single error in the field. Greg Gastley had  nine chances in the field, the most on the team.

Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds Claims Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Blessed Trinity Junior Varsity Titans

Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds stole the lead late and defeated Blessed Trinity Junior Varsity Titans 15-9 on Wednesday.  The game was tied at nine with Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds batting in the top of the sixth when Thomas Williams drew a walk, scoring one run.

Jack Healy earned the win for Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out two.  Nick Truhan and Ben Hill entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Davis Smith started the game for Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds. The hurler went three and a third innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits and striking out four

Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds tallied 11 hits on the day.  Tanner Morneau, Hill, and Matt Levinson all collected multiple hits for Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds.  Morneau went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Pope Junior Varsity Greyhounds in hits.
